Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has taken the first steps in removing the blight of transgenderism from the Armed Forces. In a terse, one-page memo to the upper echelons of the Pentagon and commanders of combatant commands worldwide, Hegseth ordered a pause in the accession of transgender people into the Armed Forces. Following directions in President Trump’s Executive Order “Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness,” Hegseth ordered, “Effective immediately, all new accessions for individuals with a history of gender dysphoria are paused, and all unscheduled, scheduled, or planned medical procedures associated with affirming or facilitating a gender transition for Service members are paused.”
This clears the deck for what is coming next: the separation of transgender service members who are currently serving.
