U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) was hospitalized this week and is receiving treatment for an infection, according to his office.
“Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is receiving antibiotic infusions at an area hospital to treat an infection,” his office said. “He is in good spirits and will return to work as soon as possible following doctors’ orders.”
Grassley, 90, was elected to the Senate in 1980 and has been re-elected seven times including most recently in 2022.
Following the passing last year of then-Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), who was just a couple of months older than Grassley, he is now the oldest member of the U.S. Senate followed by Sen.
