Does anybody remember the “Summer of Love”?
The phrase was coined by former Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, a Democrat who justified an “autonomous zone” established by left-wing anarchists in the city in 2020.
You may recall that a 19-year-old man was shot and killed in the autonomous zone.
Multiple other shootings took place in that seven-block area that police were forced to abandon during the “Summer of Love.”
A 24-year-old woman was hit by a car while protesting on a closed section of Interstate 5 in Seattle. She later died.
Calls pertaining to “rapes, robberies and all sorts of violent acts”, according to Seattle Police Chief at the time, Carmen Best, had tripled.
And yet Durkan thought it little more than “a block party atmosphere.”
A “Summer of Love.”
