Late-night host Stephen Colbert ditched his usual comedy on Wednesday night, opting for a subdued and slightly depressing monologue — which he said was aimed at letting his audience know that if they were upset about the results of Tuesday’s presidential election, they were not alone.
Colbert, apparently banking on none of his audience members having voted for former President Donald Trump, opened the show by saying, “Hey there, how are you doing? If you watch this show regularly, I’m guessing you’re not doing great. Yeah, me neither.”
