As ABC’s The View returned from its holiday break today, hosts took to the table to discuss the incidents of January 6th, 2021. Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg expressed their worries of the day being “whitewashed” from history. It’s undoubtedly a low moment for America, but many exaggerate it far more than the ones who “whitewash” it.
Sunny Hostin is a perfect example of this. As she began the conversation, she brought up Condoleezza Rice appearing on The View in October of 2021, where she said it was time to “move on” and focus on kitchen-table issues like the economy. Hostin’s still mad about anyone taking the ball off of her obsession. She then dragged in World War II, the Holocaust, and chattel slavery as natural comparisons for January 6, an extreme that is near insane:
