The Syrian terrorist rebels say that dictator Bashar Al-Assad has been deposed after more than two decades in power, claiming control of the capital city of Damascus.
Per military officers who spoke with Reuters, Assad allegedly fled Damascus to an “unknown destination” after earlier asking the United States for help as Syria fell to the terrorist rebels. An airplane potentially carrying Assad was tracked heading toward Syria’s coast before changing its trajectory and vanishing from detection.
The rebels, primarily Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) that evolved out of Al-Qaeda’s former branch in Syria, have marched across the nation, seizing city after city in a blitz. Syria’s allies Russia and Iran have been too militarily depleted and distracted to aid Assad.
