Representative Brian Babin (R-TX) is set to introduce a bill this week that would end birthright citizenship for the children of illegal aliens and put an end to “birth tourism.”
The Congressman from the 36th district of Texas will be joined by more than 20 Republican cosponsors who will sign onto the bill. The effort comes after President Donald Trump signed an executive order challenging birthright citizenship just hours after being inaugurated as the 47th president.
“It’s going to have a huge impact on our immigration system because it’s going to close loopholes that exploit birthright citizenship, and discourage illegal immigration and end the misuse of this really, this completely misinterpreted privilege,” Babin explained. “We cannot continue to have this abuse.”
