The Texas National Guard has been working as a part of Operation Lone Star since Governor Abbott launched the program in 2021. Abbott did so because President Biden came into office and threw open the southern border. Instead of continuing the policies and agreements that former President Trump used to successfully control the border with Mexico, Biden tossed those out and signed executive orders that went in the opposite direction. It’s been a complete disaster ever since.
