The trailer for a new Tim Allen sitcom called “Shifting Gears” just dropped, getting fans excited to see the 71-year-old’s return to television.
The new series will premiere on ABC on January 8. Per the show’s description, Allen stars as Matt, “the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt’s estranged daughter Riley (Kat Dennings) and her kids move into his house, the real restoration begins.”
“Shifting Gears” will be a return to ABC for Allen, who is best known for starring on the sitcom “Home Improvement” in the 1990s and more recently in “Last Man Standing.” The latter series was canceled in 2017 after six seasons but then moved to Fox and aired for three more seasons.
