Transgender influencer Nikita Dragun has complained about being sent to a male unit of the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Center after an arrest on Monday.
Dragun, real Nikita Nguyen, is a biological man who identifies as a woman. The influencer was nabbed Monday by authorities after allegedly walking around a hotel pool in the buff. When police approached Dragun in a hotel room, the makeup artist reportedly hit officers with a water bottle.
“The situation with Nikita, who is legally female, being placed in a men’s unit of a Florida jail is extremely disturbing and dangerous,” Dragun spokesperson Jack Ketsoyan told TMZ.
“This decision made by the Miami-Dade County Corrections Department directly violates their protocol, which mandates that transgender inmates are classified and housed based on safety needs and gender identity,” Ketsoyan added.
Dragun was “causing a disturbance for a long period of time” and refused to calm down, hotel security said, according to a police report.
Police went to the influencer’s hotel room, where loud music was playing and warned Dragun to quiet down and to leave the hotel. Dragun finally opened the door and swung a water bottle, hitting hotel security and officers. The social media star is now facing a felony charge of battery of a police officer, misdemeanor disorderly conduct, and misdemeanor battery, according to the Daily Beast.
The YouTuber on Monday posted video and photos that appear to be from Miami. “THE DOLLS RUN THE WORLD,” Dragun captioned the post, adding a transgender flag emoji and a Brazilian flag emoji.
“Mami I’m [sorry],” the post reads. “I promise I am not in jail… anymore. [You] know The Dolls causing trouble trouble in Miami sister. The only place La Dragona can be treating like a real princesa. I sign a couple deals… had my first 42 shots in awhile to celebrate halloween and my [redacted] back… but u know I went to say feliz to my latin papi. [You] know how I feel about an uncut pretty gay latino.”
Photos and videos appear to show the influencer at a public pool in a thong, shorts, and a crop top.
The 26-year-old has 9 million followers on Instagram, more than 3.5 million subscribers on YouTube, and 2 million followers on Twitter.
