When President Trump re-assumed office, one of his stated goals was to protect women’s sports. Specifically, the president vowed to bring an end to the practice of allowing transgender women, otherwise known as men, to compete unfairly against women, in women’s sports leagues and teams. The president made changes to Title IX, which prohibits sex-based discrimination in any school that receives federal funding, to ensure that only women would be allowed to compete in women’s sports.
There has, as you might imagine, been some pushback from blue states and cities. On Friday, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the creation of the Title IX Special Investigations Team to look into schools and universities that are defying Title IX.
