President-elect Donald Trump slammed the “empty and lawless” cases brought against him by special counsel Jack Smith on Monday after Smith moved to dismiss four felony charges against Trump.
Smith had charged Trump with four felonies related to the president’s actions in the aftermath of the 2020 election, but Trump has maintained that the charges — along with the other cases brought against him in Georgia, New York, and Florida — are politically motivated.
“These cases, like all of the other cases I have been forced to go through, are empty and lawless, and should never have been brought. Over $100 Million Dollars of Taxpayer Dollars has been wasted in the Democrat Party’s fight against their Political Opponent, ME.
