President Donald Trump flew to New Orleans Sunday to attend the Super Bowl, and on the way, his plane, Air Force One, flew over the Gulf of Mexico America. As we reported, the president signed an executive order in early January re-naming the marginal sea to something more… American.
The U.S. Coast Guard almost immediately started using the term, marking it the U.S. government’s first official use of the term.
But Trump wasn’t done, and he signed a proclamation while in flight proclaiming the first ever “Gulf of America Day:
