President-elect Donald Trump responded to the terrorist attack in New Orleans’ French Quarter on Wednesday by calling it an “act of pure evil.”
Trump’s statement comes after a man rammed a truck into a crowd of people and then got out and opened fire on law enforcement before police killed him. At least 10 people were killed, and 35 more were injured in the attack.
“When I said that the criminals coming in are far worse than the criminals we have in our country, that statement was constantly refuted by Democrats and the Fake News Media, but it turned out to be true,” Trump said in a post on social media. “The crime rate in our country is at a level that nobody has ever seen before.”
