Former President Donald Trump encouraged Israel on Friday to hit Iran’s nuclear facilities as it prepares to retaliate after Iran fired nearly 200 ballistic missiles into the country at the start of the month.
Trump made the remarks during a Q&A session with voters in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Trump has been touring the southeastern United States in recent days to survey the damage from Hurricane Helene and talk with voters about what they need to recover.
“I listened to Biden yesterday … they asked him, what do you think about Iran, would you hit Iran? And he goes, ‘As long as they don’t hit the nuclear stuff.’” Trump said. “That’s the thing you want to hit, right?”
“I think he’s got that one wrong. Isn’t that the one you’re supposed to hit?” Trump continued. “It’s the biggest risk we have, nuclear weapons.”
