Trump Wins North Dakota Caucus In Dominant Fashion

Former President Donald Trump dominated the North Dakota Republican Caucus on Monday as he continues to inch closer to officially securing the party’s presidential nomination.

The Associated Press called the race with roughly 38% of the votes counted as Trump led former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley 84.4% to 14.6%.

Candidates are eligible to win delegates if they finish with at least 20% of the vote. However, if a candidate wins at least 60% of the vote then that candidate collects all of the state’s 29 delegates.

The win, assuming Trump stays over 60%, will put the former president at 273 delegates while Haley lags far behind with only 43 delegates. Haley secured her first and only win of the GOP nomination process over the weekend when she won Washington, D.C.
