From the moment Kamala Harris became her party’s de facto nominee for the presidency, her team began cranking out advertisements attacking Donald Trump as you would expect. But she’s also been attacking JD Vance as well. In one recent ad, Harris somberly warns the country that if her opponents are elected, Vance will be loyal only to Donald Trump, not to America. It’s certainly true that loyalty is an attribute that Trump values highly, but going after Vance in this fashion was an obvious mistake. He’s a Marine, after all, not to mention being a job creator. Accusing him of a lack of loyalty to America would be a heavy lift under the best of circumstances.
