‘We Fall for It!’ Sunny Laments Latinos Tricked By GOP ‘Fear Tactics’

Peddling her usual race-traitor bigotry against Latinos who don’t vote for Democrats, The View co-host Sunny Hostin (a staunch racist) commiserated on Wednesday with actor and political activist John Leguizamo about how their fellow Latinos were tricked into voting Republican because of “fear tactics” and “trigger words” like “communism” and “socialism.”

Before getting to Leguizamo’s acting projects, the cast wanted to fawn over his liberal political activism and hear his take on former President Trump announcing his 2024 bid:

It’s kind of exciting and terrible all at once because if he’s the nominee for the Republicans, it’s going to undo them because he loses suburban women, he loses the moderates, the moderate Republicans, independents, but then the fight between him and DeSantis could be UFC!

“Oh my God, that would be a blast. But then if he wins, he’s going to know how to destroy America. He’ll destroy the country,” he proclaimed.

Faux Republican Ana Navarro wanted Leguizamo to educate the cast and the audience on the “Latino vote for morons 101,” and he stated the obvious that politicians needed to work to get their vote:

Well, you know, we’re the largest – one of the largest voting blocks. We’re also the largest minority in the United States. We’re the oldest ethnic group in America. And we vote. But you have to come for us. You have to talk about our issues. You have to knock on our doors. You can’t take us for granted and expect us to be there for you.

But surprisingly, he did commend Republicans for putting in that leg work in many places. “They’re putting ads in our Spanish radio station, on WhatsApp. They come for us and that’s why Latinos are shifting toward them. But just come for us Democrats,” he implored.

But those facts didn’t sit well with the fake Republican, who scolded him: “They didn’t shift in Arizona! They didn’t shift in Nevada!”

After noting she’s Puerto Rican, and some flirting with her guest, Hostin suggested Republicans “use fear tactics towards Central Americans, South Americans, Cubans.” She decried how the right warns about the growing affinity for “communism” and “socialism” in the Democratic Party. “But they’re not really addressing the issues that Latinos face,” she huffed.

Leguizamo argued that Republicans were using “trigger words” to trick Latinos and Hostin said she was “surprised that we fall for it.” Using the ridiculous leftist argument about disinformation in the Latino community, Leguizamo chalked it up to them being “not as media savvy maybe as we should be.”

Before the conversation was diverted to Disney’s Encanto and talk about Bruno, Leguizamo argued that “trigger words get white people too.” He and Hostin then teamed up to assert that “Make America great AGAIN” really meant “make America white again.”

Leguizamo didn’t use his infamous “roaches for Raid” line against Latinos again, which Hostin used against white women a couple weeks ago.

JOY BEHAR: It’s great to see you again her again. You’re so talented. We love.

JOHN LEGUIZAMO: Oh, thank you Joy.

BEHAR: But before we talk about your movie, I want to ask you about politics because I understand you became very active in the past couple of years, I guess.

LEGUIZAMO: Yeah. Yeah. I guess – uh – since – uh Hillary Clinton, you know, running for office I got really involved and have been political ever since.

BEHAR: So, what do you think about – I just showed the tape of the low energy – ehhh. He [former President Donald Trump] seems to be losing it.

LEGUIZAMO: Yeah – well – you know, it’s kind of exciting and terrible all at once because if he’s the nominee for the Republicans, it’s going to undo them because he loses suburban women, he loses the moderates, the moderate Republicans, independents –

BEHAR: So what? [Inaudible]

LEGUIZAMO: But then the fight between him and DeSantis could be UFC.

SUNNY HOSTIN: Yup.

LEGUIZAMO: That could be fun!

HOSTIN: It could be fun to watch.

LEGUIZAMO: Oh my God, that would be a blast. But then if he wins, he’s going to know how to destroy America. He’ll destroy the country.

BEHAR: He’s not going to win. He can’t win again. He loses.

ANA NAVARRO: Don’t say that!

ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: Don’t say it!

HOSTIN: Don’t say that!

SARA HAINES: Don’t say that!

NAVARRO: We cannot get complacent, dammit! Don’t say that!

LEGUIZAMO: No!  We can’t. We’ve got to keep our dukes up.

HOSTIN: I almost think it’s like Beetlejuice. I don’t think you should say his name. Or like Candyman. I don’t think you should say his name.

NAVARRO: Listen, I want to stick with politics. We’ve both been celebrating that a Latina saved the Democrats.

LEGUIZAMO: Oh my God, yes!

NAVARRO: Catherine Cortez Masto just elected Senator in Nevada.

But I always feel like people misunderstand the Latino vote. So, can you give us Latino vote for morons 101?

LEGUIZAMO: [Laughter] Well, you know, we’re the largest – one of the largest voting blocks. We’re also the largest minority in the United States. We’re the oldest ethnic group in America. And we vote. But you have to come us. You have to talk about our issues. You have to knock on our doors. You can’t take us for granted and expect us to be there for you.

The Republicans understand better and they’re coming for us. They’re putting in our Spanish radio station, on WhatsApp. They come for us and that’s why Latinos are shifting toward them. But just come for us Democrats. Spend –

NAVARRO (interrupting): [Scoldingly] They didn’t shift in Arizona!

LEGUIZAMO: No, they didn’t.

NAVARRO: They didn’t shift in Nevada.

LEGUIZAMO: And they gave us Arizona for us. That was the Latino vote.

HOSTIN: But don’t you think they – they – you know, I’m Puerto Rican.

LEGUIZAMO: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I feel you.

HOSTON: Si.

LEGUIZAMO: Claro.

HOSTIN: Claro.

I think, what they do is that they use fear tactics towards Central Americans, South Americans, Cubans.

LEGUIZAMO: Ah, yes.

HOSTIN: They start with the communism; they start with the socialism.

LEGUIZAMO: Trigger words. Socialism. Yeah. Yeah.

HOSTIN: But they’re not really addressing the issues that Latinos face.

LEGUIZAMO: No.

HOSTIN: And I’m surprised that we fall for it.

LEGUIZAMO: Yeah, because we’re not – we’re not as media savvy maybe as we should be. You know what I mean? As a group. So, trigger words get us. But they get white people too. Trigger words get white people too.

HOSTIN: They do. They do. “Make America great AGAIN.”

LEGUIZAMO: Yeah. Yeah. We know what that means: make America white again. I mean, we know it.
