‘We’re Trying To Find Out If People Are Working’

On Monday, President Donald Trump endorsed the email announced by Elon Musk that told federal employees to list five examples of what they accomplished in the past week.

“I thought it was great because we have people that don’t show up to work and nobody even knows if they work for the government,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “So by asking the question, ‘Tell us what you did this week,’ what he’s doing is saying, ‘Are you actually working?’ And then if you don’t answer, you’re sort of semi-fired or you’re fired.”

Trump went on to say that “a lot of people are not answering because they don’t even exist.” He also seemed to take a swipe at former President Joe Biden’s administration, saying, “That’s how badly various parts of our government were run, especially by this last group.”
